Wedding Bouquet Care & Posting Guide UK

I can’t wait to receive your wedding blooms! To ensure your flowers arrive in the best condition for pressing, please follow the steps in this guide. Preparing ahead will help your bouquet stay fresh and beautiful, ready to be transformed into a bespoke wedding bouquet frame.

Before Your Wedding

To make posting or dropping off your bouquet as easy as possible, prepare everything in advance. Having everything ready before your wedding day allows you to focus on enjoying your special day, knowing your bouquet will arrive safely for pressing.

Tips for preparation:

  • Choose a sturdy box with enough space to protect your bouquet.

  • Line the box with tissue paper or soft padding to prevent bruising.

  • Keep flowers hydrated until posting with fresh water

  • Label the box clearly with your name and delivery address.

After the ceremony

Place your bouquet in fresh water as soon as possible after the ceremony and photographs. Protect it from bruising or damage, and trim the stems if you can. Keep your flowers in fresh water (changed daily) in a cool room, away from direct sunlight, until they are ready to be posted or dropped off. Please include additional blooms from your centrepieces or other arrangements. This gives me the best and freshest selection for pressing. The more flowers, the more options for creating your bespoke floral frame!

Important: Please do not spray your flowers with water, as this can affect the pressing process.

Weather & Transportation Tips

We all hope for sunshine on your wedding day, but if the weather isn’t on your side and it happens to rain on your wedding or the day you drop off or post your bouquet, don’t worry — your blooms can still arrive safely.

When outside, protect your flowers with an umbrella, a bag, or foil to keep them dry. Moisture on the petals or inside the flowers can unfortunately cause browning in the presses, so taking a little extra care during transport helps ensure your bouquet stays in perfect condition for pressing. By following these simple steps, you’re helping me create a beautiful, bespoke wedding bouquet frame that preserves the natural beauty of every bloom and the memories of your special day.

Drop-Off & Transportation Tips

If you’re dropping flowers off at my studio, keep your bouquet upright and stable in the car, either in a flower vase or box, with stems wrapped in wet tissue to stay hydrated. If it’s raining, protect your blooms from moisture with a bag or foil when getting in and out of the car to ensure they arrive in the best condition for pressing.

UK-Wide Posting Service

You can safely post your wedding bouquet from anywhere in the UK to my Buckinghamshire studio. Each bouquet is carefully handled upon arrival, pressed petal by petal, and reconstructed as needed to create a perfectly balanced and elegant composition. This slow, meticulous process ensures every bloom is preserved beautifully.

By following these steps and sending your bouquet carefully, you’re helping me create a timeless keepsake that preserves the flowers and memories of your special day. Each bespoke floral frame is crafted with care, supporting two small independent businesses, and delivered to you safely, ready to be treasured for years to come.

  • Garden style bouquet

    What to prepare

cardboard box (no larger than 46cm x 46cm x 60cm), newspaper / tissue paper, secateurs / scissors, kitchen roll & water, 2 elastic bands, sandwich bag, marker pen, pen & paper, tape, my address (included in your booking confirmation email).

  • Cardboard box

    Step 1

Get a cardboard box that will fit your flowers - no larger than 46cm x 46cm x 60cm. Visibly mark each side with ’THIS WAY UP’ and an arrow pointing upward.

  • Cardboard box filled with paper

    Step 2

Fill the bottom of the box with scrunched up paper / tissue paper, leaving a hole in the middle for the flower stems. Please don’t use bubble wrap or plastic wrap, as it doesn’t allow the air to circulate in the box.

  • Flower bouquet stems tied together

    Step 3

REMOVE ANYTHING VALUABLE OR ANYTHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO KEEP FROM YOUR BOUQUET.

Make sure your flowers are securely fastened together around their stems with an elastic band. Trim the stems at the ends a little if you need to, so they’re fresh and so the bouquet can fit in the box.

  • Flower bouquet stems covered in damp kitchen roll

    Step 4

Wet a bunch of kitchen roll sheets and wrap them around the bottom of the stems, to keep them hydrated. Make sure they’re not wrapped around the flowers, the blooms need to stay moisture free. DON’T spray your flowers with water.

  • Flower bouquet stems covered with a sandwich bag

    Step 5

Place the bottom of the stems, covered in wet kitchen roll, in a plastic sandwich bag. Secure it tightly with an elastic band around the stems, above the kitchen roll, to prevent it from leaking in the box. Please make sure only the stems are in the bag, NOT the flowers.

  • Flower bouquet wrapped in paper

    Step 6

Wrap your bouquet lightly in paper / tissue paper, to protect the flowers from bruising. Please make sure you don’t bend or break any flowers.

  • Flower bouquet in a box

    Step 7

Carefully place your flowers upright in the box (placing your bouquet on its side would bruise & damage your flowers). Secure the sides with more scrunched up paper / tissue paper if needed, making sure the flowers are not squashed, but are not wobbling / moving in the box either.

  • Cardboard box with a label

    Step 8

Place your contact details in the box, so I know who the flowers belong to (I receive multiple deliveries on some days).

Close the box, seal it securely with tape and write visibly ‘FRESH FLOWERS’ on the top of the box. Write my address (and the sender’s details).

(Please note that fresh flowers are classified as perishable goods when posted, therefore they won’t be eligible for compensation.)

  • Pink garden roses

    Step 9

Ta-da! Your flowers are ready for posting! Take the box to your local post office before the last collection - which will be sooner than the closing time. Post it with Royal Mail Special Next Day Delivery - Before 1pm Service. This should cost about £20. (My address is included in your booking confirmation email.)

Please email me the tracking number after posting your flowers.

I will be in touch in 3-4 months’ time with your beautiful mock-up design!
