A Collection from Nature: Pressed Flower Herbariums

There’s a quiet magic in preserving the beauty of a single bloom — a moment of nature held still in time. For my recent market stall, I created a special series of pressed flower herbariums, each one unique, delicate, and inspired by the fleeting beauty of the changing seasons.

These pieces are a little different from my framed works — lighter, freer, and designed to celebrate the pure simplicity of pressed botanicals. Each herbarium features real flowers and foliage, carefully pressed and composed on soft, textured, handmade cotton paper. Without the boundary of a frame, they invite you to appreciate the natural textures and details up close — the fine veins of a petal, the graceful curve of a stem, the subtle shift of colour over time.

For this collection, I chose a palette that reflects the gentle tones of changing seasons — from creamy whites, to muted yellows, mossy greens, soft pinks and deep plums, accented with hints of wild meadow charm. Every specimen was gathered and pressed with care, allowing the organic forms to guide the composition naturally.

Because these herbariums are unframed, they offer beautiful versatility — perfect for styling in your own way. They can be displayed as a set, framed at home to suit your interior style, or simply hung with a clip for a more relaxed, botanical look. They also make a thoughtful gift for flower lovers and nature enthusiasts alike.

Creating this series reminded me of why I fell in love with pressing flowers in the first place — it’s a slow, mindful process that celebrates the simple beauty of the natural world. Each piece feels like a small, quiet conversation with nature.

If you visited me at the market, I hope you enjoyed seeing these herbariums in person. And if you couldn’t make it, a few will soon be available online — so you can still bring a little piece of meadow calm into your home.
