A New Shape I’ve Been Dreaming Of: The Oval Composition

There’s something I’ve always been quietly drawn to about oval frames. They feel softer somehow, more fluid - less structured than a traditional rectangular frame, with a gentle sense of movement that feels romantic.

For a long time, I’ve wanted to introduce this shape into my work, but I could never quite find a way to make it work with my double glass framing. And for me, that part is essential. It’s what allows each flower to feel light, suspended. So I left the idea… sitting in the background. Until now.

This new oval design brings everything together in a way that feels natural and considered. It still holds all the elements I love about my pressed wedding bouquet preservation - the delicacy, the spacing, the way each flower is individually placed - but the shape itself shifts the composition into something new.

The oval allows for a softer flow across the piece, with a gentle rhythm that feels less structured than the classic rectangular layout. It invites your eye to move slowly across each stem and petal, in a more organic way.

There’s something romantic and almost sentimentally old-fashioned about the oval shape, which, combined with the double glass design, brings in a quiet contemporary edge - blending everything together beautifully. It’s available in both the large and extra large frame.

This design works particularly well with bouquets that include a selection of smaller flowers, helping the space feel naturally filled and well balanced. It remains very much my signature modern botanical collage style - light, airy, and thoughtfully composed - but the oval shape brings a slightly more organic feel that I’ve genuinely fallen in love with.

This has been a long time coming for me. Not something rushed or trend-led, but something I’ve been quietly waiting to be able to create in the right way. And now that it’s here, it feels like a natural extension of my work.

This oval design sits alongside my classic layout for all pressed floral bouquet pieces, giving you a choice in how your flowers are beautifully presented.

I can’t wait to start creating more of these! If you’d like to explore pressed wedding bouquet preservation in this style, you can find more details here - I would LOVE to hear from you.
