December Memories | A Cosy, Creative & Festive Month
December Memories
December was one long, joyful festive celebration!
From DIY Christmas wreath making to meeting Santa (and even helping him out!), it was a month full of magic, laughter and little moments I want to hold onto.
Festive Creativity & Wreath Making
I somehow landed the best gig at my little man’s school Christmas fair, playing Santa’s helpful elf - fingers very tightly crossed I get to do it all again next year.
My friends and I created our own wreath-making workshop, foraging, creating, chatting, and sipping (okay… gulping 😅) Baileys. Exactly the kind of cosy chaos I love. Working with natural materials at this time of year always feels especially grounding - slowing everything down and making space for creativity and connection.
I decorated our windows with a festive Christmas village stencil - my first time ever drawing on glass - and it felt nostalgic and fun. Winter mornings also gifted me some truly beautiful sunrises while walking my pup. An 8am sunrise is about the only one I’ll ever catch!
Christmas Magic & Family Traditions
We kept up our annual traditions too: a Christmas panto, a festive trip to London to see friends (complete with some ‘snow’), and tracking Santa’s every move on Christmas Eve. We also got cosy and watched Elf for the very first time with our little man.
There was a gloriously messy gingerbread house (not a crumb survived), a Christmas Day pub visit for a festive drink, a Twixmas birthday celebration, and a magical trip to London to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - truly spellbinding.
Ending the Year with Gratitude
We ended the year welcoming the New Year with friends, full hearts, and so much gratitude. December, you were cosy, creative, chaotic and completely wonderful!
As someone who spends her days preserving meaningful flowers and turning fleeting moments into keepsakes, this month felt like a gentle reminder of why memory-keeping matters so much: it’s often the quieter, everyday moments that stay with us the longest.
